According to a report from Deadline, ABC is working to develop another Marvel show that will feature a female superhero.
Karey Burke, President of Entertainment at ABC, told Deadline the character would be “something brand new, mostly.” Whether Burke meant new to live-action or new to Marvel entirely was unclear.
This project is separate from a previously announced Marvel project led by Wonder Women writer Allan Heinberg that would have also featured a female hero. While that show wasn’t picked up for a pilot in 2019, there has been no word if ABC plans to redevelop it.
Currently, ABC airs Agents of SHIELD, which will end in 2020 with its seventh season. ABC and Marvel are both owned by the Walt Disney Company.
