Although the jury is still out on whether or not Tony Stark will return to the big screen, he will most definitely have a future on the small screen on Disney+. The vehicle for Tony Stark’s return will be through the What If… animated series.
The confirmation of Downey’s return as Iron Man in What If… was confirmed by his co-star, Jeff Goldblum who will also be reprising his role as the Grand Master in the series. The confirmation comes via an interview with Goldblum from Buzzfeed Celeb.
The series is based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. One of the most anticipated storylines coming out of Disney+’s What If… is that of Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers which poses the question: “What if Peggy Carter became a Super Soldier instead of Steve Rogers?” However, there are many other stories for us to look forward to in the What If… series.
What’s more is that despite being an animated series, the show will feature many of the original actors voicing their characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of the confirmed cast consists of Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Josh Brolin, Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Sebastian Stan; just to name a few.
