Jessica Gao, a writer on Rick and Morty, will develop and serve as head writer for the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
While Marvel has not issued a statement, Gao confirmed the news on Twitter.
She-Hulk was announced at D-23 convention this past summer along with several other new Marvel shows including Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel.
In the comics, She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, a cousin of Bruce Banner and a lawyer. Given the writing credits of Jessica Gao however, it seems more likely the show will have a comedic bent instead of being a serious law procedural.
Gao won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program at the 2018 Emmy Awards for writing Rick and Morty episode “Pickle Rick.” Her other credits include Silicon Valley and Robot Chicken.
A release date for the show has not been announced.
