Jamie Foxx is in talks to reprise his role as Electro in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel according to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter.
Foxx originally portrayed the villain in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
While highly unusual for Marvel to bring in an actor from a previous iteration of the franchise to return to a role, it’s not unprecedented. Actor J.K. Simmons reprised his role as J. Jonah Jameson from the 2000s Spider-Man trilogy in a mid-credits sequence in Spider-Man: Far From Home
Marvel did not comment on the report.
The untitled sequel is set to start filming this fall and is slated for theatrical release on December 17, 2021.
