Universal Pictures and Focus Features Evoked Emotions with Sound at CinemaCon

Universal Pictures, Focus Features, and Blumhouse tugged on our heart strings Wednesday, April 3, at CinemaCon 2025. An incredible orchestra led us into a slate made up mostly of sequels and franchise entries.

After touting their 2024 successes, we launched into their upcoming content, starting with Jurassic World Rebirth. Director Gareth Edwards was joined by stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, who cracked jokes about Johansson being “too expensive” to add to the franchise before.

Following on the heels of the wildly successful animated films, “Kung Fun Panda 4” and “The Wild Robot,” DreamWorks Animation hopes to continue the hits with “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” and “The Bad Guys 2.”

Focus Features and Blumhouse Productions also introduced some fantastic looks at their upcoming films, including the Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons sci-fi comedy, “Bugonia,” and “M3GAN 2.0,” which was preceded by 30 dancing Megan performers.

Another exciting bit of news are feature films from prestigious filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan, both currently shooting and arriving next summer in 2026.

Last but certainly not least, Wicked For Good made the biggest splash with stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande joining director Jon M. Chu on stage. The ladies made some light jokes around their viral press tour for the first film.
