NYCC INTERVIEW: Nihaarika Negi Discusses the Horrors of British Colonization in HUNGER

At New York Comic Con 2025, Multiverse of Color’s Vanessa Young interviewed “HUNGER” writer Nihaarika Negi on Friday, Oct. 10. Negi detailed her process on diving into British colonization of India, how her family’s heritage impacted elements of the story, Winston Churchill, and the incredible work her and artist, Joe Bocardo, put in to make it all come to life.

“I don’t think you can hate a culture so much, if you didn’t actually love it, or you wanted some of it for yourself.”
