Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn And Deadshot Look Spectacular In Empire Magazine Covers!

This post was written by DC Movies Podcast’s own Adonis Gonzales

It’s been a great week for Suicide Squad! Fans have gotten a cool new look at the main characters of the film thanks to some recently released images. Cara Delevingne as Enchantress appeared in her grim attire on a magazine cover, and so did Jared Leto as The Joker, sporting his gangster-type purple leather jacket and a cane that I doubt he uses just for walking.

Now, two more Suicide Squad member images have come out, both gracing the cover of Empire magazine’s latest issue.

The first image is of the ‘Clown Princess of Crime’ herself, Harley Quinn- portrayed by Margot Robbie. Margot looks incredible carrying around a wooden baseball bat and a bedazzled pistol, and her bedazzled everything else is an awesome sight too. If you look closely, you can see a tattoo on her right arm of a spade pattern, a nod to Harley’s love of spades.

Suicide Squad’s Harley has been called easily distracted and unpredictable, and her costume absolutely shows it. Harley’s definitely the character I’ll be paying the most attention to when the film comes out.

The next image is of the charismatic leader of the Squad, Deadshot, portrayed by Will Smith. I was never that big of a fan of Deadshot in the comics, but I know enough about him and his getup to know that Will Smith’s attire is spot on.

Smith looks so deadly and badass sporting that rifle and Deadshot’s classic eye-scope. And his suit has gotten a bit of a decal upgrade since the last time we saw it, with even more armored parts and a crosshair design on the left breastplate.

He’s also not wearing the traditional white mask that Deadshot usually wears, but that’s likely because Will Smith’s face is too famous to hide. Smith’s version of Deadshot seems to be a lot more calm and collected than other versions, which has led many to believe that Deadshot will either become something of an anti-hero in the DCEU, or he’ll suffer a terrible tragedy that causes him to transform into the Batman supervillain we all know.

These images, and the previous ones, have got me insanely psyched for the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. If this film does well, I might find myself actually rooting for the villains to win!

Suicide Squad comes out in theaters August 5, 2016. It stars Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jared Leto and more as your favorite DC Comics supervillains.
