This has been an incredibly special year for Marvel fans. We launched The Marvel Report, we got to meet countless fans at Hayley Atwell’s signing at Los Angeles Comic Book and Sci-Fi Con, Long Beach Comic Con, and Stan Lee’s Comikaze, we even helped raise money for two great charities. Between “Knowing Our Value,” live-tweeting with the amazing cast and crews of the shows we love, and bonding with fellow fans, this year has been brilliant!

S.H.I.E.L.D. 50TH ANNIVERSARY @ LBCC
“In less than a month’s time, The Marvel Report had been established and would be making its first official appearance at LBCC 2015! We had a booth, a raffle, and hosted a cosplay meetup to celebrate the 50th anniversary of S.H.I.E.L.D. We were honored to be joined by AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’s own costume designer Ann Foley. I was impressed by how well everything came together. It was a fantastic event with a great turn out for AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., AGENT CARTER, and AVENGERS cosplayers.”- Jennifer Redelle Carey @JenniferRCarey
AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. SEASON 3 PREMIERE
“My favorite Marvel moment in 2015 was getting to meet Clark Gregg and the rest of the cast at the MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’s season three premiere in LA. I got photos with Clark and Chloe and autographs from almost the whole cast.”
– Gavin Richter @KidCoulson
CHRIS PRATT & CHRIS EVANS SUPERBOWL CHARITY
“My Top Marvel Moments of 2015 were the Cap/StarLord Superbowl charity battle, the DubSmash War videos from SDCC, and basically anything James Gunn did on social media!”
– Amelia Emberwing @BrowncoatAuror
SDCC MARVEL TV PANEL
“To explain the height of my love for Marvel in 2015 I have to mention SDCC and the fact that I skipped the Hall H GAME OF THRONES and STAR WARS panels in order to see the AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D./AGENT CARTER one happening at the same time. Totally worth it in my book, because it’s also where I met Marvel Report co-founder Lauren!”
– Brittany Rivera @Kindamoviesnob
“My 2015 was dominated by AGENT CARTER and its fandom. During San Diego Comic Con I was able to meet the cast, the crew, and take part in an Agent Carter flash mob. My involvement in AGENT CARTER fandom introduced me to Lauren Gallaway and not long after The Marvel Report came into being. The AGENT CARTER fandom has given me the opportunity to host events and support philanthropic efforts–such as the Dubsmash Wars–things that I’ve always desired to do but didn’t know how to get involved in or create.” – Jennifer Redelle Carey @JenniferRCarey
THE DUBSMASH WARS
“The Dubsmash War – it was just consistently fun to watch Team SHIELD and Team Carter have a blast with the Dubsmash, but also seeing the engagement in the fandom.” – Andy Behbakht @AndyBehbakht
“2015 was a big year for me with Marvel. Apart from writing with The Marvel Report which has opened a fun new avenue for me to explore my own creativity and make a name for myself while working with creative individuals – I had a fantastic opportunity to meet most of the cast of MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. In addition to getting a signed Coulson Funko from Clark Gregg, I got to meet Brett Dalton who is possibly the kindest, sweetest, most wonderful person I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Between him, Chloe Bennet ordering us pizza, Luke Mitchell wearing Pikachu and getting to live tweet with them as people (Constance Zimmer, you will be missed) it was a special magical moment for me personally. To see such professionals as people was absolutely fantastic.”
– Carolyn Poddig @SoCalRamen
“One of my favorite moments of the year was an unexpected meet & greet with Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons) from MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. I wish I would have worn my ‘I’ll be your Fitz’ shirt during the event but alas, I wasn’t prepared. It came at a moment during a week when I really needed a win. What’s better than that?”
– Clement J. Bryant @ClementBryant
MEETING JOSS WHEDON
“I never thought in million years I would meet one of my favorite directors, but there I was, on the media floor at Comic Con, and there was Joss, walking towards me. He had just won a special contribution award from SDCC and I knew I had to congratulate him. He was incredibly kind to take photo with me. It was my top memory from Comic Con this year!”
– Lauren Gallaway @LaurenGallaway
Creating The Marvel Report
“Last, but not least, founding The Marvel Report: as someone who is doing a lot of DC TV related projects, it’s great to own and run a site about the Marvel Universe because in my book, there is no such thing as “DC VS Marvel”, I love both sides equally and now I am running projects on both those universes which is all sorts of awesome.” – Andy Behbakht @AndyBehbakht
CLOSING THOUGHTS
“I have ‘made mine Marvel’ for twenty-four years now but I have never in all of those years seen so much Marvel fandom flourishing as I did in 2015. There were Marvel events being held by the company, panels at conventions, signings with stars, actor-led fundraisers, and fan-run events, too. If you are a Marvel fan and want to engage with other Marvel fans, they are out there, sharing their love for Marvel with everyone. This was the year of the Marvel fan and I can only see more opportunities to express one’s fandom in 2016, with the release of new comic book titles, movies, and TV shows. We are living in the true golden age of Marvel and it is the fans who prosper. As a wise friend of mine often reminds me: ‘When heroes unite, they accomplish more.'” – Jennifer Redelle Carey @JenniferRCarey
