‘Fault In Our Stars’ Writers Writing ‘New Mutants’

The X-Men news continues to trickle in today.This time for New MutantsThe Hollywood Reporter revealed that screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber will be writing for the upcoming X-Men spin-off film.

Josh Boone, who directed Fault In Our Stars, will also be directing the new Fox produced movie.The film will focus on a group of teenagers who deal with getting their mutant powers. This iteration of the New Mutants will be Magik, Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Cannonball, and Danielle Monster.

The New Mutants first appeared in 1982’s MARVEL GRAPHIC NOVEL #4, and were created by Chris Claremont & Bob McLeod. They soon graduated to their own series in 1983. The most recent volume launched in 2009 and ran until 2012. Volume 3 was written by Zeb Wells.

There is no word on when the film will be hitting theaters.

Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber and have previously written The Spectacular Now(500) Days of Summer, and the upcoming comedy The Masterpiece. Josh Boone previously directed Stuck in Love.
