Joe Manganiello, star of True Blood and the Magic Mike movies will take on the role of Deathstroke. The Wallstreet Journal learned of the casting during an interview with the DC Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns. Johns was also recently appointed to oversee the entire DCEU after the mixed reviews from Batman v. Superman.
Recently Ben Affleck, who is co-writing the solo Batman film with Johns, posted a video of Deathstroke on his twitter, teasing the character. We now know that Manganiello is confirmed to be the main villain in the Batman film, however there is still speculation that there may be a cameo in the upcoming Justice league movie (due out November 2017).
During his interview Johns did not give away the Batman film release date. The earliest time would be during 2018. This Batman movie will be directed and Star Affleck as Batman.
Deathstroke first appeared in 1980 in The New Teen Titans #2 and was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
