Doctor Strange to Link to Runaways Show

Doctor Strange will link to the upcoming Runaways show, according to Comicbook.com.

Marvel character Tina Minoru will appear in the upcoming film as one of the Masters of Kamar-Taj. This name will sound familiar to Runaways fan as the mother of character Nico Minoru. The remote location of Kamar-Taj is where Dr. Stephen Strange travels after his accident in an attempt to cure himself.

According to IMDB, Tina will be portrayed by actress Linda Louise Duan.

With Runaways still in development at Hulu, it’s too early to tell how the show will crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in other ways. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige reiterated Marvel’s commitment to expanding the MCU in an interview with Comicbook.com, saying:

“That’s how we always build the universe. There are so many characters in the books, that if we have the need for a person to be in this place at this time and have a line, or have no lines, we still want it to be someone. Often times, that’s how the names come about. The names that we pull usually are the ones that are relatively top of mind or have been amongst characters that we’ve thought about, like the Runaways for a long time. I would call that an Easter egg that most people won’t even see.”

As the Marvel Universe continues to grow, it only seems more likely that the TV shows and films will crossover in bigger ways. What other characters not currently on the big or small screen would you like to see Marvel include?

Doctor Strange hits theatres November 4, 2016. A release date for Hulu’s Runaways is pending.
