New Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Hits Play and Introduces New Music

News about the Guardians of the Galaxy is hitting hard and fast as May approaches. Today twitter dropped a brand new 31 seconds of footage and while you’d think that you’d get tired of seeing spots from the film, surprisingly the visuals stay unbelievably fresh.   We’re asked to hit play and we get to see, among other things, baby groot plugging in some audio equipment.  A few new scenes might not seem like much but when you compare it to the previous big game spot (and those visuals!) we’ll take everything that we can get on Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 before May 5th hits and the film hits theaters.

Another reason why these TV spots are important? They give us a clue as to just what Mrs. Quill put on Peter’s mix tape. One of the most heartbreaking moments from the first film was the love Peter and his mother shared over music.  There’s a full list of songs from Awesome Mix vol 1 out in the world, what do we know so far about Mrs. Quill’s musical choices? “Hooked on a Feeling” became a musical staple again, and this clip introduces us to Suffragette City By David Bowie.

If you’re shedding a nostalgic tear, don’t worry. so are we.  What about the extended big game spot that blew our minds before Gaga got a chance to in the Pepsi halftime show?  If you had any questions or were ever curious about Fleetwood Mac, now’s your chance to have them answered.  Give this a listen and tell us if it sounds at all familiar.

The Chain by Fleetwood Mac given the ending of the last film and the tenuous partnership promised by Kevin Feige in the film seems a particularly appropriate choice for the Guardians of the Galaxy.

While clips might inundate the audience, they do give us a glimpse at what is going to be an incredible soundtrack. are you excited by these two new songs? Can’t wait to see what else James Gunn has in store for Peter’s mix tape? Sound off and share with us in the comments below true believers. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 premieres May 5th 2017.
