The X-Men continue to arrive. Matt Nix’s pilot cast is growing, and according to deadline.com they’ve added another new mutant specifically created for the X-men universe. SyFy Incorporated star Sean Teale has been cast in a lead role opposite Stephen Moyer as new mutant Eclipse.
The pilot’s plot centers on 2 parents with Stephen Moyer as the father, who discover that their children have mutant abilities. Sean Teale will play Marco Diaz, also known as Eclipse. It’s presumed he’ll play a role in the underground network that the parents flee to to support their children and teach them how to use their abilities. According to deadline, Diaz is “A Natural Rebel compelled by circumstances to cooperate with others.”
Marcos is a passionate and strong-willed fighter who sometimes lets his emotions overrule reason. His alter ego, Eclipse, who possesses the ability to absorb and manipulate photons, is a newly created mutant for this expanded X-Men universe
Teale joins Jaime Chung who was cast as the mutant Blink, Moyer as the father, and Blair Redford in an unknown role. Nix, Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and of course Jeph Leob executive produce the series for 20th century Fox and Marvel Television. Teale was previously cast in Incorporated, produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. It ran for one season. He also played Conde in the CW’s Reign and played a major role on Skins for the BBC.
