Fans of FX’s wonderfully weird look at mental health and mutant powers rejoice, Legion has been renewed for season 2!
According to Marvel.com, FX has renewed the series for season 2. The return of David Haller was announced by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, presidents of original programming. According to FX, Legion is one of the most watched cable programming shows this year. Schrier called it, “A stunning achievement.”
“More than a new series, Legion is a wholly original take on the super hero genre. Our thanks to Noah Hawley for taking the creative risks and shattering expectations. It’s a privilege to work again with Noah, his producing partners, the outstanding cast and our partners at Marvel Television on another season of Legion.”
Jeph Leob, president of Marvel Television, added that Marvel was proud to work with Fox on creating strong unique television, much like David Haller’s adventures.
“We are thrilled there will be a new season of LEGION. Noah’s spectacular take on David Haller and all the other characters he brought to life makes us ache for more. We’re particularly proud of our partners at FX and the success we share on our first TV series together,”
With fans still reeling (we’re only six episodes in after all) it appears as if the adventures of David Haller, Syd Barrett, and Lenny (or is it?) are poised to continue. If this will have any effect on the current season is anyone’s guess. We’re only six episodes in after all and there are still numerous questions to be answered about David and the world he inhabits. Still it’s clear, fans love showrunner Noah Hawley’s take on Legion and can’t wait for more.
Can you? Sound off in the comments below and tell us what you think of the potential future of David and his friends.
Legion returns tonight at 10 pm with an episode written by Nathaniel Halpurn and directed by Hiro Murai.
