Ladies and gentlemen, mutants and meta-humans, we have a name! Lauren Shuler Donner, producer on the X-Men films and the new TV series for FOX, just revealed that the X-Men television series (by Burn Notice’s Matt Nix) has been aptly named Gifted, as implied by a tweet sent out by veteran producer.

In addition to this “Uncanny” news, the picture also shows Joseph Morgan, from the CW’s The Originals, (as pointed out by Heroic Hollywood) in the photo where the cast is reading the pilot, as he is sitting next to Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time), who will be playing Blink. Currently, the show does not have an air date, but the pilot has been ordered.
So far, the rest of the cast consists of Stephen Moyer (True Blood) as Reed, Amy Acker (Person Of Interest) as Kate Stewart, Blair Redford (Switched at Birth) as Sam, Sean Teale (Incorporated) as Marcos Diaz/Eclipse, Natalie Alyn Lind (Gotham) as Lauren, Emma Dumont (Pretty Little Liars) as Lorna Dane/Polaris, Percy Hynes White (11.22.63) as Andy and Coby Bell (Burn Notice) as Jace Turner.
Despite not knowing who Joseph Morgan will be playing, we are excited for his addition to an already extraordinary cast of talented folks! With a name like Gifted we can be assured that the series will stay true to the X-Men books that we know and love. So, will we be seeing our old mansion at 1407 Greymalkin Lane in Westchester? It is in fact called, Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. As fans, we will grasp on to just about any implication offered by the title reveal, but we’ll have to wait and see just how much of it proves true. Let’s see what Matt Nix, Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, and the rest of the creative team can cook up for us.
