Ms. Marvel and Black Panther have been nominated for Hugo awards after being blamed for the slump in comics sales. The nominations were announced by World Science on Tuesday. The Hugo Awards are essentially the biggest Awards for sci-fi and fantasy writing. The two books were both nominated for Best Graphic Story category. Marvel’s Vice President of Sales, David Gabriel, made it clear that the sales slump were due to books with women and people of color leading them. However, Ms. Marvel and Black Panther weren’t the only Marvel books to be nominated in this category.
