Inhumans SDCC 2017 Round Table: Scott Buck And Ellen Woglom

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con we got the chance to sit down and interview the cast and crew behind Inhumans. This is our interview with showrunner Scott Buck and Ellen Woglom (Louise) talking about the upcoming project from Marvel Television and IMAX.

When asked about the tone of Inhumans, Buck responds by saying, “We tried to make it as grounded and as real as possible” and “all of their [characters] emotions, drive, and thoughts feel real and relatable.” Woglom said if it was about just their powers it would be one dimensional and that Inhumans isn’t that.

Buck said in terms of storytelling, “It’s a family drama, but everyone has their own story arcs.” For example, in terms of Maximus (Iwan Rheon), Buck says that he is someone “who’s eagerly awaiting to see what his superpower is only to discover that not only does he not have any superpowers, but his Inhumanity has been taken away from him.” Buck also teased that just because the rest of the Royal Family has incredible powers doesn’t mean everything is ideal. “The society in Attilan is far from perfect.”

Premiering first in IMAX on September 1 and then on ABC on September 29, Inhumans stars Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Ken Leung as Karnak, Ellen Woglom as Louise, Sonya Balmores as Auran, and Mike Moh as Triton.
