As we’re getting casting news for the upcoming DC Comics series Titans, we’re also learning more about who will be involved with the show from behind the cameras. The new DC project has recruited costume designer Laura Jean Shannon to work on the costumes for the superheroes and villains. Shannon is no stranger to the world of comic book properties, both DC and Marvel, as she worked on the very first Iron Man film for Marvel Studios.
But she has also been involved with another upcoming DC TV show as Shannon also worked on The CW’s Black Lightning series starring Cress Williams, from Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, which is scheduled to premiere early next year. Her impressive resume doesn’t stop there as Shannon has worked on films like Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book, the new Jumanji film, Welcome To The Jungle, starring Dwayne Johnson.
Teagan Croft and Anna Diop will be portraying Raven and Starfire respectively in the series, with actors yet to be revealed for Nightwing and Beast Boy. Once production starts on the first season, which will consist of 13 episodes, we’ll most likely get our first look at Shannon’s costume designs for the various characters.
“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”
