#4 Maya Lopez aka Echo
Maya Lopez is a character created by David Mack and Joe Quesada. In the comics she was taken in and raised by Fisk. She was told by Fisk that Daredevil was the man who killed her father, so she first faces off against Daredevil seeking vengeance. Much like Maya also has a physical disability. She was born deaf but uses her other heightened senses to her advantage. She also has the ability to observe and perfectly copy people’s movements and actions. My idea for the Netflix version of Echo is that Maya was maybe saved by Daredevil and once rumors spread that the devil died a massive building collapse she decides to use her skills to mimic what she’s seen him do and fill the role of the protector of Hell’s Kitchen. This could create an interesting new relationship for Matt. He will likely see a lot of himself in Maya and may even try to turn her away from this life, also with the loss of his own mentor it could be really interesting to see Matt step into that role and take on a student of his own. In the comics the two of them were lovers, and honestly I could go either way with that but I personally would prefer a mentor student relationship between them.
