Variety reports The CW is developing a new drama titled Project 13, based on DC Comics characters Traci Thirteen and her father, Dr. Terrance Thirteen. Elizabeth Banks (known for playing Effie in The Hunger Games, among many other roles) is attached as an executive producer.
The show would focus on Traci, a forensic scientist in her 20s who believes in the paranormal and finds she has extra-sensory abilities when she teams up with her eccentric, estranged father to explore mysterious cases of the paranormal and unexplained phenomena.
Traci has been in the media before as Masasa Moyo voiced the character in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. She will next be seen in Young Justice: Outsiders, the third season of the beloved animated series that is being resurrected as part of the original programming on the DC streaming service next year.
Daegan Fryklind will be the writer and executive producer for Project 13, with Banks serving as a producer with Max Handelman, with their Brownstone Pictures Company. Brownstone will produce in conjunction with Warner Bros. Television.
The CW is currently the home of a number of DC Comics adaptations, airing The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. The network is also the home of Archie Comics with Riverdale. Another Archie Comics property drama based on Sabrina the Teenage Witch is also in the works with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
In addition to DC and Archie properties, The CW is also the home of the hit Vertigo series iZombie. Fryklind has been the creator of the series Bitten, as well as writing and producing for the series Motive and Being Erica. She was also a writer on Falcon Beach and Spiral, among other shows.
