We have yet to see a single frame of Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spin-off film Venom starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. However, it appears that we may have gotten our first look at the CGI design for the iconic symbiote.

Mikkel Frandsen, a creature artist, revealed recently on his website a sculpture design of the beloved symbiote. On Frandsen’s resume, he has an unannounced project listed for 2018 and given the release of these images, it’s safe to say that he is indeed working on the upcoming Sony-Marvel picture, but that has yet to be confirmed. You can see the three photos below to get a closer look at Frandsen’s design.

While it is hard to tell without the color, the design indicates that this will, without doubt, be more faithful to the comics than Spider-Man 3 did. With filming currently underway, it remains to be seen when we’ll get our first official look at the movie. Prowler, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis and Liev Schreiber, hits theaters on December 14, 2018. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller wrote the screenplay, produced by Christina Steinberg, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.
Gina Prince-Bythewood’s Silver & Black is set to release on February 8, 2019.
