The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, is adding Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders who will be reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Maria Hill. The casting news comes via Vulture. Both of the characters were last seen in a post credit scene for Avengers: Infinity War.
Though we will see Samuel L. Jackson again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the upcoming film: Captain Marvel, that film is set in the 1990s. So, it’s still unknown exactly when in time Spider-Man: Far From Home will take place. Most are assuming the film is to take place prior to Avengers: Infinity War, but I’m holding out hope that will somehow take place after the untitled fourth Avengers film.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently in production in Europe. The film is also starring Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Balton, and Tony Revolori. The Spider-Man sequel is most likely being released July 5, 2019, which will be about two months after the release of the fourth Avengers film.
Do you think this sequel takes place before or after Infinity War? Are you excited to see both Maria and Nick back in the MCU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
