The Batwoman series is rounding out its cast as production on the pilot is approaching and we now have another member of the Hamilton family! Elizabeth Anweis has officially been cast in the role of Catherine Hamilton-Kane, better known as the mother of Nicole Kang’s Mary Hamilton, who will be Kate Kane’s step-sister on the show! The show describes Mrs. Hamilton as follows by Warner Bros. TV and The CW:
“Catherine made her fortune as a savvy, bullheaded defense contractor, and all those billions position Catherine as one of Gotham’s most powerful residents. For Catherine, it’s a matter of the bottom line: Batwoman is bad for business.”
With this addition, the main cast is now complete with Ruby Rose as Kate Kane/Batwoman, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton. Marcos Siega will be directing the pilot that will be filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Based on the characters from DC.”
