In less than 30 days, nerds from all over the globe will descend on San Diego for the annual comic convention – a nerd Woodstock if you will – and there’s a good chance they might be in Hall H for the return of Marvel Studios. Fresh off the success of their 22 film project with Avengers: Endgame, Disney’s superhero powerhouse will be returning to San Diego, though the line up has yet to be announced.
According to Deadline, the studio will be returning with an undisclosed line up. After taking a 2018 break, and after previous years where the studio had a bigger presence at Disney’s in-house convention D23, everyone is wondering what the studio will be bringing to the table. Breaking it down, a look at the Black Widow prequel film seems likely, as well as possible casting announcements for The Eternals (or perhaps some concept art from master designers Andy Park and Ryan Menerding?) and future casting news for films like Black Panther 2 and Shang Chi.
Bringing Marvel Studios back to the San Diego Comic Con is a bold move, especially since the company is rumored to be bringing more announcements to D23 in August. Just what’s coming remains to be seen however. With Disney taking a more focused hand in the MCU thanks to Disney+ and Marvel Television, could Marvel TV be making the jump to D23 while the films stay where they launched – at San Diego Comic Con? Let the speculation begin!
