Over 10 years ago, the world was first introduced to Marvel superheroes by the way of Iron Man.
Little did we all know that a decade later, we would be watching the stories of many other superheroes; Iron Man paved the way for Marvel Studios to be the juggernaut that we know it as today.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Marvel fans the world over were devastated when Tony Stark took his last breath in Avengers: Endgame. There have been many fan tributes to the Stark Industries CEO but perhaps one of the most notable and breathtaking homages is this Iron Man statue in Forte Dei Mare, Italy.
Take a look at some photos of the statue below:
The statue is titled, “Man of Steel” and while its name is reminiscent of another known superhero, the name actually derives itself from the construction of the statue. The Iron Man statue by Italian artist Daniele Basso stands at just over 13 ft tall and is comprised of “mirror-polished steel and brass.” The monument is situated in the middle of Via Carducci and is part of an exhibition entitled, “Oltre Verso.”
If you happen to be lucky enough to be in Italy, the art exhibition has been open since August 9th at the Fortino Lorenese gallery and takes up 3 floors of the building.
