During the first episode of The Showrunner Whisperer, host Andy Behbakht asked Legends Of Tomorrow showrunner Keto Shimizu about the possibility of Zach Braff reuniting with Donald Faison. Thankfully, the answer was yes! It was considered if Legends Of Tomorrow would have continued. Braff would have possibly played Skeets if it all worked out.
Skeets is a robot that helps out Booster Gold, and it would have been perfect for Braff. Faison was cast and portrayed Booster Gold in the final episode of Legends Of Tomorrow Season 7. This would end up being the final episode of the series. Check out the exchange below about Braff being considered for the role of Skeets.
Question: At some point, you must have asked, ‘You know what we could also do? We bring in Zach Braff’ and have him play someone close to Booster, that must have happened?
Keto Shimizu: [Laughs] Of course, of course, we love Zach! We thought about him maybe being the voice of his little robot.
Question: Skeets?
Keto Shimizu: Yeah! We thought about that because that would have been an easy way to get Zach in there and have him do the voice as opposed to trying to finding money to pay for him to actually be on the show, [laughs] so that’s what we were throwing around.
Sadly, Braff would have been only a voiceover, but it would have been great. Scrubs is a beloved show, and one of the main reasons for this is Braff & Faison’s dynamic. It is unfortunate the show ended before this could have come to fruition. Faison was being set up as a major part of Legends of Tomorrow if the show had passed Season 7. Skeets do play a role in Booster Gold storylines in the comics, so It would have been a natural progression to have the character appear on Legends. Based on Booster Gold being brought in, and it is right at the end of the season, there must have been big plans for Faison’s character in Legends of Tomorrow Season 8.
How significant would Skeets have played in Legends Of Tomorrow Season 8 is unknown. It would have likely been at least a handful of episodes, all depending on how they structured the season. The series ended with all the main characters being arrested, ending on a massive cliffhanger. Fans never got closure on how this storyline would have resolved. Thanks to The Showrunner Whisperer, we have possible hints into what could have happened.
