Paramount Presents Spectacle and Horror with Smile 2, Gladiator 2, A Quiet Place Prequel, and More at CinemaCon 2024

Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Lupita Nyong’o, and Joseph Quinn graced the stage, with messages from Scarlett Johansson, Sir Ridley Scott and John Krasinski.

Paramount Pictures’ presentation at CinemaCon 2024, April 11, started off with a bang. Gladiator 2 has been all over the convention with brilliantly placed signs for the film hung on Roman statues throughout Caesar’s Palace.

That theme continued throughout the presentation with a gladiator parade and ended with the presentation ending on an epic note with a first look at Gladiator 2

Sir Ridley Scott joined with a message and intro into a bolder, bigger look in a world we haven’t seen in 24 years. Denzel Washington and Connie Nielsen are remarkable in the first look, along with Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Joseph Quinn (CinemaCon 2024’s Breakthrough Performer of the Year).

Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry came to the stage to introduce Transformers One clips, in glorious 3D format, which the audience got to enjoy with special 3D glasses.

We got messages from John Krasinski and Scarlett Johansson to talk about their movies A Quiet Place: Day One and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, respectively.

Lupita Nyong’o (CinemaCon 2024’s Star of the Year) and Joseph Quinn talked excitedly about their parts in Day One and how much more chaotic this prequel’s premise is compared to the previous films.

Paramount also teased quite a bit of 2025 content, including The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, Smurfs (2025) starring Rihanna, an untitled Damien Chazelle project, and more. While their 2024 slate felt a bit light compared to the other studios, they still have plenty for theater owners and audiences to get excited about.
