EDITORIAL: Four Marvel Characters We Want To See On Netflix

She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters)

Let’s admit it. She-Hulk’s entry into the MCU is way overdue. But we’d rather have good ol’ Jen Walters introduced the way she deserves – a kick-ass, independent woman with many sides to be explored and not the hyper-sexualized version that sometimes permeates fanboy minds.

We all know the story right? Walters ends up with her Gamma infused powers courtesy of her cousin Bruce Banner via a blood transfusion after a crime boss seriously injured her. The combination of Banner’s blood, sharing the same DNA as his cousin and anger gave way to Walters becoming She-Hulk when the mobsters tried to finish her off while at the hospital.

There’s so many sides to explore that the material practically writes itself into a teleplay. For one, Walters has a sharp legal mind, making her one of the most formidable lawyers in the Marvel Universe. This aspect alone could play well into other stories with Daredevil, Jeryn Hogarth and Jessica Jones.

Then there’s also the issue of her struggling to keep her identity and anger in check, especially when things do not go her way. What better character do you need to re-enforce the Marvel motto “It’s All Connected”? Introducing Shulkie helps to keep that link between the films and television series alive and thriving. – Clement
