Almost exactly one month ago Sam Neill sparked excitement among Marvel fans with this cryptic tweet.

Today, Neill confirmed in an interview with Short List that he will indeed be in the third Thor film. He did not reveal any details on who he might be playing, but he did say that he did a “couple of days” of shooting. This is exciting news indeed.

Neill is best known for his work as Dr. Alan Grant, beloved paleontologist and two time dinosaur attack survivor from Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park IIIThor will reunite him with his co-star from Jurassic Park, Jeff Goldblum who is playing the Grandmaster. Neill has also worked with Thor director Taika Waititi, their film The Hunt for the Wilderpeople is currently playing in select theaters and has earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Neill joins a cast of seriously impressive newcomers to the MCU including Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban as Skurge. They join the familiar faces of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk,  and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. Can we please get Laura Dern in this movie as well so we can get the Jurassic Park reunion we deserve??

Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theaters on November 3, 2017 and is currently filming in Australia. The other Marvel films also in production include Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is wrapping up filming in New York City and Avengers: Infinity War, which is in preproduction in Atlanta. The next MCU film to hit theaters will be Doctor Strange on November 4th.
