It seems we may have finally received some information about both Cloak and Dagger and the Runaways series! After being announced last year both shows have been relatively quiet but now we have possible production dates for both series.
According to SeasonZero, Cloak and Dagger will begin filming in New Orleans starting February 15th under the name Shadows while Runaways will begin filming sometime in the same month in Los Angeles under the title Rugrats (No not the Nickelodeon series about babies who go on grand adventures, though that would be cool). Not much else has been said or even confirmed at this point but since that is next month other news like casting should start appearing fairly soon.
While nothing other than that Runaways will be on Hulu, we do have a bit more for Cloak and Dagger. Last year the show got a showrunner and we were shown a logo as well as the synopsis for the upcoming series on Freeform:
“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is a co-production of Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.
With Joe Pokaski at the helm, the show looks to be set for a late 2017/early 2018 premiere and hopefully more information will come down the pipeline soon!
