A while ago, it was reported by That Hashtag Show that Titans was in the process of adding two additional DC Comics heroes, with Hank Hall and Dawn Granger a.k.a. Hawk and Dove. The search is finally over as Deadline is reporting that Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly have landed the recurring roles of Hawk, one-half of the iconic Hawk/Dove duo as this will mark the duo’s live-action debut. The official character description from Warner Bros TV reads as follows:
“Hawk (aka Hank Hall), one-half of the crime-fighting, vigilante and romantic couple of Hawk and Dove. The perfect example of opposites attract, Hawk is an aggressive, offensive bruiser while Dove is strategic, defensive and lithe.
Dove (aka Dawn Granger) is one-half of the crime-fighting, vigilante duo and romantic couple Dove and Hawk. Dove is strategic, defensive and lithe, the opposite of Hawk, an aggressive, offensive bruiser.”
But Deadline added a big surprise with their casting. While the two actors have series regular options for Season 2, it appears that DC are looking at possibly doing a spin-off with the two characters. Ritchson and Kelly will join the previously announced stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven. The first season, which will have 13 episodes, will start production in Toronto, Canada, with the series set for a 2018 premiere on the streaming service. Let us know about the castings of Hawk in the comments below.
“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”
