As we’ve been learning more and more about who will star in the new DC drama Titans in the last couple of few weeks, we now know who’ll be directing the pilot. According to the official website of Directors Guild of Canada Ontario, The Machinist and The Call’s Brad Anderson will helm the series premiere of the live-action Teen Titans series.
Besides Anderson’s work on the big screen, he has also directed several episodes of various TV shows like The Wire and FOX’s sci-fi cult series Fringe. While Titans have yet to announce its actor for Garfield Logan a.k.a. Beast Boy, the series will star Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth a.k.a. Raven. Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly will recur as Hawk and Dove respectively along with Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
In recent news, our friends at That Hashtag Show reported that the first season will feature DC villain The Acolyte as one of the evil forces. With production set to start in Toronto, Canada on November 14, we should have more casting details very soon. Let us know in the comments below if you’re excited about Anderson directing the pilot and be sure to listen to our latest episode if you haven’t already!
“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”
Titans Season 1 will premiere sometime in 2018 on the new DC Comics-branded streaming service. Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter are executive producing.
