Despite rumors that HBO Max has canceled the Green Lantern TV show, throw those into space.
DC TV Podcasts has confirmed with HBO Max and Warner Bros. TV that the upcoming DC adaptation, from Arrowverse producer Greg Berlanti, is still alive, with both the studio and streaming service calling the reports “inaccurate.”
From DC and HBO Max and Berlanti Productions comes a bold adaptation of the iconic comic book franchise:
A saga spanning decades and galaxies. GREEN LANTERN will depict the adventures of a multitude of Lanterns, including Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz and Alan Scott—Earth’s first Green Lantern, who, true to the comics, is a gay man—and many more. The series will also include fan favorites such as Sinestro and Killowog, as well as introduce new heroes to the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps.
Green Lantern, which stars Finn Wittrock as Guy Gardner and Jeremy Irvine as Alan Scott, is executive produced by showrunner Seth Grahame-Smith, with Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter. Lee Toland Krieger, also executive producer, will direct the first two episodes of the series.
